Welcome to the website of the Leslie L. Kaufman Law Office in Spokane, Washington. I am a sole practitioner who has been practicing law since 1983. My focus is on helping everyday people with their financial problems. Often the answer to financial problems is bankruptcy. Sometimes other solutions are also available. It is my goal to give my clients the attention, courtesy, and time they deserve while achieving the best possible resolution of their individual situation. Most people never intend to get buried by debt – it just happens, especially in these tough economic times. It is not my job to judge you; it is my job to help you. I offer personalized attention and reasonable fees.

Free Consultation

I offer free consultations at various times to accommodate most people's schedules. I try to be as flexible as possible by offering some weekend, evening, and early morning appointments, in addition to appointments during regular business hours. A free consultation usually lasts from 30 minutes to an hour.

In order for you to get the most from your free initial consultation, I ask that you bring with you information about your debts, income and assets. The following information is not required at your free initial consultation, but it is helpful to have: credit reports; recent bills or statements from creditors; pay or income statements for the last six months; recent bank statements; and your last two years of tax returns. It is this type of information that allows me to get a good picture of your financial situation. Unlike many attorneys, I generally do not ask you to complete a form before you come in for a free consultation. I prefer to sit down with you and gather information during our meeting and give you the chance to ask any questions you may have. I can usually determine at this meeting if a bankruptcy filing is your best option. If it is, we will put together a list of other information that will need to be gathered in preparation for bankruptcy.
